About Me
I am a qualified, Therapeutic Counsellor, registered with the BACP. I have trained in person-centered, solution-focused and systemic therapy and CBT. I have over 13 years of front-line experience working with vulnerable adults and young people in social care and education, and the voluntary sector.
I am currently working with clients through different charities including faith based charities and working with clients through my private practice.
I have worked with clients presenting wide ranging issues including stress, anxiety and depression, trauma, abuse, loss and bereavement, marital, family and relationship issues, personality disorders and unemployment.
I am passionate about empowering people; I help clients recognize the resources they have within themselves to better cope with the challenges they are facing and to make the changes they want to see in their lives. I offer a safe space to my clients, where I listen to them and support them with empathy, understanding and acceptance.
I am passionate about providing faith and culturally sensitive counselling services, through which I aim to help clients to understand their situation from an Islamic perspective and heal holistically though Islamic practices. I take a solution focused approach, empowering clients to recognise what is in their control, and help them to harness it for positive change in their lives.
As an avid learner, I continually attend trainings and courses on human psychology, Islamic knowledge and practices and working with a range of mental health difficulties.
