About Me
Asalam Aleikum, my name is Nusrat, I'm 40 years old, a wife and mother of 4 children. My passion is animal welfare in Islam, women and youth empowerment in our Muslim communities. I am also the Vice Chairlady for Muslims For Human Rights NGO in Kenya.
Background: I'm from Mombasa Kenya, My mother has Indian, Arab and Swahili roots and my father has Arab, Swahili and Somali roots. I've been married and divorced and currently married again for over 7 years. My current husband has Pakistani and African roots.
I have at least 30 years of experience on how all these different cultures have influenced upbringing of children and how women rights have been mistreated due to cultural traditions passed on as religious obligations.
Education: I am a certified NLP Practitioner & life Coach and a certified Marriage and Family therapist.
As a therapist and life coach I guide women in finding their voices and safe space in our communities while navigating some of our oppressive and limiting cultures.
I help and guide youth in equipping them with life skills of how to navigate this Western world both online and offline and finding their identities, rights and principles that encompass their lives in an Islamic way of life.
With experience as a divorcee, wife, daughter and a mother currently, in all stages of parenting teens, a child and a soon to be toddler, coming from a diverse multicultural and racial background, I can offer coaching and counseling from various perspectives of my clients lives.
