About Me
Salam, my name is Khalidah. I use the Pluralistic approach in Counselling, an encouraging and collaborative method that aims to work in partnership with you in order to achieve the positive changes, you desire. As part of this model, I mainly use integrative styles of counselling and in particular the person-centered approach and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
I believe in working with you to find the best way of addressing their concerns, using ideas and methods from both the therapy literature and your own life experience. I aim to help you find ways to react more effectively when faced with difficulties in life. I believe autonomy is key in helping find a sense of confidence so that you feel more able to make choices and decisions which you feel are right for you. My role will be to provide a supportive and non-judgemental ear, while encouraging self-growth and empowerment.
Our work together may also involve finding ways to heal and discover things about yourself so that you can make the required positive changes you want in your life. The sessions are about you and will go in the flow and direction you are comfortable with. There is no right or wrong in these sessions, you can bring what you want to in the sessions and everything is kept confidential.
Counselling is currently within a telephone or online setting. Sessions are 50 minutes long, and these can take place weekly on a set date and time which is convenient for you.
