About Me
Farhan Masud lives in Edinburgh and is known by some in the community Hani.
In high school Farhan was what many would consider a troubled child. Cutting school and causing problems in the classroom and the playground. Fist fights were not rare. The turning point was when he and his father were reciting salawat together, and the latter passed away smiling in 2012.
He then committed to studying Islam under Shaykh Ruzwan Mohammed, Shaykh Amer Jamil and Shaykh Hassan Rabbani in 2013. Farhan further studied with Shaykh Amin Buxton beginning 2016 and in 2018 pursued the 40 day summer program The Dowra in Tareem, Yemen.
Since 2017, Farhan has been actively teaching children (aged 9-18) Hanafi fiqh, aqeedah (creed) and hadith studies.
Typically the classes are according to the iSyllabus For Schools program, an accredited program that is widely taught in a few cities around the UK led by Shaykh Ruzwan and Shaykh Amer and authored by Ustaz Zubair Alvi. For more info visit https://isyllabusforschools.org
Farhan also teaches
- Hanafi Fiqh - Ascent to Felicity
- Hanafi Fiqh - The Islamic Way of Worship with Ijaza to the author
- Beginning of Guidance by Imam al-Ghazali
- Clarification of Noble Character by Habib Omar Bin-Hafidh
Farhan has a creative side which not only does he bring into his teaching methods, but also writes poetry - some of which can be found online. To add another string to his bow, Farhan is also a graphic designer.
