About Me
Hi, I'm Aaminah, a passionate Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Consultant, Trainee NLP Practitioner and Islamic Mental Health Practitioner based in the UK with diverse educational experiences across a range of settings such as schools, madrassahs, youth and charity organizations. My journey in this field began as a child, surrounded by families within my community facing the challenges of supporting individuals with SEND. This early exposure ignited a spark within me, a desire to make a difference and advocate for those often marginalized by society. This passion only deepened as I embarked on my career, blessed with the opportunity to teach and support students with SEND in a variety of settings.
One unforgettable experience that truly made me committed to this cause, involved a child with autism whom I had the privilege to work with closely. This child struggled with anxiety and a deep-seated need for perfection in their work, which often hindered their progress and caused immense stress. Recognizing the importance of self-regulation techniques, I dedicated myself to teaching them strategies to manage their anxiety and embrace imperfection. Through patience, empathy and tailored support, I watched as this child gradually gained confidence and found joy in their accomplishments, regardless of perceived imperfections. Witnessing their growth and transformation was incredibly rewarding, but the true validation came from the heartfelt gratitude expressed by their caregivers, who praised the positive impact of my support on their child's well-being and development.
