About Me
Ustadha Saleha is a Shari'ah graduate/Aalimah from Ebrahim College (UK) where she completed her seminary studies (Alimiyyah) and a further year of Specialisation in Prophetic traditions (Dawratul Hadith) as a mature student in 2018 - thereby obtaining Ijazah in Sahih Al-Bukhari. She is a student of Shaykh Qari Bashir Ahmed Siddique from Madina and has attained Ijaza in Qira'a from him in the narrations of Hafs & Shu'ba. Additionally, she has Ijaza in Saba' Qira'a from Ebrahim College.
She has a BSc Hons in Computing Studies and is currently pursuing a masters at SOAS. She is married and has two grown sons.
In 2019, she was selected to receive an honorary contract with NHS Barts to train as a Multifaith Chaplain providing spiritual and pastoral care in hospitals. She then progressed to Retail Chaplaincy and currently works as a Corporate Chaplain with Canary Wharf.
She works as a Shariah Advisor with various organisations specialising in Islamic family law, mainly dealing with complicated divorce cases. She also works with Nour (DV) as an Islamic Advisor/Counsellor for vulnerable women and on the Menstrual Matters project by the White threads Institute (run by female scholars).
She has been a teacher in Quran, Tajweed and Islamic studies for over eight years and currently teaches at Q-Iman and on the Arabic intensive program at Ebrahim College. She also works as a Youth Mentor with Mawarid Lifestyle.
She enjoys being a judge at the National Huffaz yearly Quran competition for female and works with the community by delivering lectures and workshops. She has recently joined TV One UK and Iqra Bangla TV as a regular guest to discuss Women's issues.
