About Me
Hi, my name is Shamyle Khan. I am a client-centered, trauma-informed Mental Health practitioner based in Ontario, Canada. My focus is to facilitate my clients' process of developing a functional and healthy perspective of their life, informed by their own personal needs, and nurture resources to facilitate action as natural extension of a regulated thought and emotional process.
With a Masters in Clinical Psychology, I have worked within the Mental Health service sector of Pakistan, UAE, and Canada. My privilege of working with a majority ex-pat and immigrant population in different parts of the world offers me professional competence and unique insight in the struggles and opportunities for clients undergoing similar major life transitions. As a clinician, I am sensitive to minority groups within populations, and facilitate their therapeutic process with empathy and curiosity towards their narrative and lived experience.
I am trained and supervised in the therapeutic approaches of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Mindfulness. My practice is steered by a holistic lens, whereby my intention is to not miss the forest for the trees, as I facilitate my client to navigate through their life and build for the efficient sustenance of their needs. The ultimate goal is to better the quality of living and a healthy relationship with self. I hope to facilitate my clients build their
personal indicators of wellbeing with curiosity and creativity.
