Nazeer Jamal
A Lead Environmental Scientist and Managing Director of Khweza Environmental Consulting. He has over 10 years experience working for various spheres of the South African government engaging with environmental legal compliance monitoring and enforcement, waste and pollution management, Environmental Impact Assessments and Public Policy and Engagement.
He is currently Founder and Chairman of Penny Appeal South Africa working in over 30 countries engaging in humanitarian aid activities. He has been active in the NGO sector for the past 15 years including being Trustee of the Al Ansaar Foundation and Radio Al Ansaar and President of the Muslim Students Association of South Africa.
He further has initiated and setup a number of strategic projects for the muslim community in South Africa including AccidentalMuslims.com Durban Chapter where currently serves as Senior Advisor to the platform offering muslim services including podcasting, leadership and youth development, matchmaking, conferences and events. His involvement in Islamic media led him to create platforms for South African nasheed bands and nasheed artists to engage and develop.
He has been awarded as Muslim Leader of Tomorrow by the American Society of Muslim Advancement, as One of 200 Top Young South Africans by Mail & Guardian, a Young a Fellow by the World Islamic Economic Forum, as Climate Reality Leader by Climate Reality, Associate Member of the Young Politicians and Leadership Network and Alumni of the International Concordia Forum.
