About Me
I am a counseling psychologist offering individual therapy for young and senior adults & couples therapy and pre-marital counseling. I earned my credentials from Calsouthern University-Costa Mesa, USA with a Master’s of Science in Psychology. In addition, I earned a Master’s of Education from the University of Sunderland, UK.
I completed Cognitive Behavior Therapy training at the Beck Institution for CBT and Dialectical Behavior Therapy training provided by the Linehan Institute for DBT. I have completed EFT and EFIT training for individuals and couples and SFT for persistent emotional distress and deep grief. At the Behman Hospital and clinics, I provided CBT for in-patient and outpatient clients suffering from Depression, Personality Disorders, Grief, and Anxiety. I also provided DBT Skills Training for Groups.
I have received training in Couple Therapy using EFT and PACT model; a Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy, which relies on three domains: developmental neuroscience, arousal regulation, and attachment theory. It aims at helping couples to merge the social justice model with the secure attachment model to create secure-functioning relationships based on shared purpose, mission, and vision.
I can help couples communicate well to understand each other's personalities and expectations. I also help young adults explore why they feel and act the way they do and work on their negative core beliefs and cognitive distortions to become healthier.
With over twenty years of experience working with adolescents and young adults, in the education and psychology field combined, with Arab and Western cultures, I have supported young adults and adolescents to deal with social and family problems such as conflicts with parents, anger management, conduct problems, social issues, and self-esteem problems. I am happy to offer counseling and psychoeducation in both English and Arabic. I emphasize accommodating various cultures and ethnic backgrounds, and I adopt various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), (EFT), Emotional Focused Therapy and Schema Focused Therapy (SFT).
